What it is

An assistant for your GPRO team

Datapit reads the real data of your account with the official GPRO API and suggests setup, strategy, driver and car plans, and the season's accounts. It does not play for you: the token is read-only and you make the choices, in the game. It is not a simulator: every calculation is checked against real races, external calculators or the GPRO wiki, and when a number is an estimate the page says so.

🔧Setup

Q1, Q2 and race with the setup formula: your driver, your car as it is today and the weather of each session.

🛞Strategy

Compound, stops, fuel and boost laps; the highest «Clear track» risk without running out of energy or breaking parts.

🧑‍🚀Driver

Training and tests race by race, for the following seasons too, with the Overall cap and the contract renewal.

🏎️Car

Wear race by race to the end of the season, part changes, Power, Handling and Acceleration against the tracks.

💶Economy

Real income and costs from the statement and the forecast cash race by race.

📚Archive

Your races one by one, the lap times, the rankings and the driver market.

In this guide
How it works

From the game's data to the advice

📡Your data, the real ones

Datapit reads with the official GPRO API what you see in the game: office, driver, car, track and weather of the next race, practice, testing, group, statement and calendar. Every answer stays saved: the pages open at once and do not change until you press «Update».

↻One button: «Update»

It is at the top of every page, with the date of the oldest data and the calls you have left today. It checks what has changed in the game and downloads only that; if a race has finished, it logs it in the archive. Then it goes back to the page you were on and tells you what it updated and how many calls it used.

📚An archive that grows by itself

Every logged race saves the setup used, result, stops, tyre and fuel consumption, lap-by-lap weather, risks, the driver and car of that day and the replay of the whole group's race. The more races there are, the more the calculations use your numbers instead of general ones: the stops from one of your stints on the same track, the wear of the tracks you have already raced, the energy margin of your races.

🔬Verified calculations, declared estimates

GPRO does not publish its formulas, and Datapit is not the game engine. Every calculation is checked against real races, external calculators or the GPRO wiki; where an estimate remains the page says so, often with how far off it can be.

Calls to GPRO

What costs calls and what does not

Every reading of your data is a call to the GPRO API, and each token has a quota of calls per race (1000 for GPRO Supporters, 100 for everyone else): you can see how many you have left at the top, next to “Update”. You don't have to count them: Datapit keeps every answer and shows the saved ones until you press “Update”, which re-downloads only what changed in the game.

WhatCallsWhen
The first time up to 14 With nothing saved, the Summary or the Race weekend download the week's data (up to 9 calls), and the Summary, once only, the list of your races (1); the Car plan and the Economy add 4 (garage, statement, calendar and tracks). After that it does not happen again.
«Update» 1 to about 14 At the top of every page. One call to see what changed in the game, then it re-downloads only that: if nothing changed it costs 1. When a race is over it also records the race in the archive (result, setup, consumption and lap-by-lap replay) and moves on to the new race: that is the time it costs the most, about 14. The button says how many you have left, and if they could drop below 20 it asks you to confirm.
«Past races» 1 per race In History: the races you drove before Datapit, to put in the archive all together or only the ones you choose. Those unlocked on GPRO arrive complete, the others with the result only. It always leaves 30 calls for playing and after the next race you pick up from there.
«Download missing races» 3 per race In the Rankings: your division, the Italians and your group. If nothing is missing it costs 1 call; the other divisions cost 1 call per race, only if you open and download them.
Always free 0 Reloading a page (F5), moving from one page to another, changing the choices in the plans; Test sessions, Driver plan, History and Lap times only read the saved data; the Drivers market is a public file that does not use the quota.
The week

First in the game, then on Datapit

The rhythm that saves calls: do a batch of things in the game, then a single «Update». Datapit downloads only what has changed.

In the game (GPRO) On Datapit
0
Once only

In the GPRO app (app.gpro.net) open Miscellaneous > API access and copy the token.

In «Sign in» paste the token. Then open the Summary: the first time it downloads the week's data (up to 10 calls) and tells you whether you have past races to put in the archive.

1
After the race

Wait for the race to finish and for GPRO to publish the results.

«Update»: logs the race in the archive and moves on to the new race. Do it before the next race: the lap-by-lap replay can be downloaded in full only for the last race.

2
Training, repairs, parts

Do the driver training, repairs and part changes as you decided.

Decide here first, without calls: the Driver plan for training and tests, the Car plan for the parts, the Economy to see whether the cash holds.

3
Testing

Do the test sessions. The driver comments on the setup only with the «Setup tuning» test priority.

After «Update» you find them in Test sessions, with the points that will reach the car.

4
Practice

Do the practice laps starting from the setup of the Race weekend.

«Update», then in the Race weekend read the driver's comments on each part of the setup and correct it.

5
Qualifying

Q1 and Q2, each with its own setup: they have different weather.

Race weekend, Setup section: one setup for Q1, one for Q2 and one for the race.

6
Race

Race setup, fuel, tyres, risks and boost laps, before the choices close.

Race weekend, Race section: compound, stops, litres, risks and boost. «Update» downloads the weather forecast again if it is more than half an hour old.

The pages, one by one

What each page does

The menu has four groups: Week, Season, Archive and Market. Open a page below to learn what it shows, how to use it, how far to trust the numbers and how many calls it costs.

Week
🏎️Race weekendeverything for the race: weather in laps, practice, setup, strategy, risks and boost

It follows the order of the weekend, in four parts; the numbers at the top take you straight to each one.

  • 1. Track and weather: the track card and the weather windows turned into laps of your race.
  • 2. Practice: lap by lap, what the driver says about each of the six setup settings (▲ raise, ▼ lower) and which ones still need fixing. It starts closed, and even closed it tells you how many laps you have done and whether the setup is right.
  • 3. Setup: one setup for Qualifying 1, one for Qualifying 2 and one for the race, because each has its own weather, with the band (±) to stay within and where each value sits from 0 to 999. It is calculated with your driver, your car as it is today, wear included, and the track. Near 50% rain you choose whether to see the race setup for the dry or the wet, and the page says how many seconds per lap the wrong weather costs.
  • External reference: on a track the formula does not know and where you have not raced yet, you can type the Qualifying 1 setup from another calculator (and, if you have them, stops, consumption and compound): it becomes the base instead of the estimate.
  • 4. Race: recommended compound, stops, total litres and litres per stint, and the race drawn lap by lap with stints, stops and boosts. The compound table adds up the seconds each compound loses (stops, fuel weight, tyre pace, laps on a nearly worn tyre) and recommends the one that loses least; those within 5 seconds count as equal.
  • Stops and litres in the compounds: every row of the table has a stop counter (− and +) and a litres box for the start and for each stop. Change a number and the row is recalculated at once, playing the race lap by lap: it tells you where the stops really fall, the seconds in the pits, for fuel and for tyres, the gap from the other compounds, whether you reach the end even with the consumption margin and, if a stop is missing, asks you to add it. The boxes you don't touch follow the site's litres. ↺ puts the row back as it was. Not saved.
  • Qualifying, the game's tyre and the rain: the next race card tells how you finished Qualifying 1 and 2 (position, time and gap to the first) and, from the last races, the day of the season reset: «Update» already reads this data, with no extra calls. Under the compounds table, once the archive races have shown which compound the game's code stands for (two races that agree are needed), it says which compound you set there and whether it is the recommended one. In «If it rains» the wet lap costs about 15% more, an estimate from 9 of your races confirmed by the track records.
  • Race temperature: in the Setup header you can type the temperature the race setup is calculated with, if you know it will differ from the forecast average (the default). It changes the race setup and the tyres (recommended compound and stops), but not the strategy saved in the archive; «Forecast» goes back to the previous value. The Race section is split into numbered cards (the race lap by lap, compounds, risks, rain), with links at the top to jump between them.
  • Race risks: the highest «Clear track» risk you can give without running out of energy and without taking a part past the failure threshold, with the energy at the finish and what the extra wear costs in parts. Wear follows the average of overtake, defend, «Clear track» and malfunction. The five risks you type are saved for that race, and that average also goes into the Car plan.
  • Boost: type the lap where each of the three boosts starts; each lasts 3 laps and the extra fuel goes into the stint where it starts. They stay saved until the next race.
  • If it rains: how much the car uses in the wet, how much fuel you need depending on the wet laps and how long the rain tyres last, even if it stops raining.

How far to trust it: on the tracks the formula knows, the setup is off by at most 2.4 points against an external calculator. The stops come from a real stint of yours on the same track when there is one, otherwise from a tyre formula calibrated on your races (typical error 5% on the length). The most uncertain part is the pit time. The recommended strategy is saved until the start, to compare it later with the real race.

Calls: like the Summary. «Update» downloads the weather forecast again if it is more than half an hour old.Open the page →
🧪Test sessionsthe season's test track, the points towards the car, the setup tried and the driver's comments
  • The track and the week: the test track, the same for the whole season, the stints and laps left this week and the test weather.
  • Test points towards the car: the points move from Testing to R&D to Engineering and then onto the car; those from tests done before race N arrive from race N+3.
  • The sessions: one card per week with the setup tried stint by stint, the compounds compared on the same setup and the driver's comments on each setting.

The driver judges the setup only with the «Setup tuning» test priority: with the others you keep the values tried, without a verdict. The stints save themselves when you open the Summary or the Race weekend during a test session.

Calls: none, it reads the data already saved.Open the page →
Season
🧑‍🚀Driver plantraining, tests, expected positions and contract, race by race, also for the next seasons

It helps you grow the driver without going over your category's Overall cap, and know in advance what happens at the end of the season.

  • The starting point: your driver today, with the age (from 35 the characteristics drop by themselves) and the renewal race. You can change a value to try a hypothesis, or paste a driver copied from the market (📋) to see how they would grow with you.
  • Race by race: for each race choose the training, the expected position (or «U» if you plan to finish last on purpose to keep motivation low) and the tests, up to 5 rows of laps and type for at most 100 laps. Then press «Calculate plan»: the effects carry over to all the following races.
  • The balance: season by season, the Overall after race 17 (the one that counts for the cap), whether the expected positions get you promoted (top 3), whether in Rookie you risk losing the driver at the reset, and what the plan is worth in prizes.
  • Contract: whether the Overall lets you renew at the renewal race, how much it costs and how long it covers.
  • Tools: «Minimum Overall» picks, over a range of races, the trainings that keep the Overall lowest; «Maximum Rank» the ones that raise the Rank most, also towards a stamina or concentration target; «Apply position» and «Clear training» are quicker than doing it by hand.
  • Training effects: the cost and change of every training, and how many Rank points it gives for each Overall point: the right measure to grow while staying under the cap.
  • Check and charts: what the page forecast and what really happened in the last season of the archive, and the characteristics forecast race by race.

The training effects are measured on real trainings; for those never seen, every logged race measures their effect. The Overall formula is an estimate found online, not the official one. The plan saves itself, and the Car plan (tests) and the Economy (costs and prizes) use it too.

🔩Car planwear, part changes, upgrades and PHA proportions to the end of the season
  • The plan at a glance: races left, planned changes and their cost, the first part at risk and the highest wear.
  • Wear and change plan: races in columns and the 11 parts in rows. In each cell pick a change from the menu (replacement or upgrade; the downgrade only at the next race, the only one whose wear is known) and below it read the wear forecast at that race. The plan adapts: a change that has become useless goes back to «No change» by itself.
  • Replace when needed plans, for the whole season, the replacement of each part just before the failure threshold; «Clear all replacements» starts again from scratch.
  • Failure threshold and risk: the wear from which a part risks breaking (80% to start with; it stays saved and also applies to the Summary and the Race weekend) and the risk you plan to use (the average of overtake, defend, «Clear track» and malfunction), which changes the forecast wear.
  • Power, Handling, Acceleration: how closely the car's proportions match those of each track (100% = the same). For each race two suggestions, towards that track and towards the average of the remaining races, with the best-value upgrade: one click picks it in the table.
  • Tests: for each race, which test type to give the development laps to align the car better when the points arrive; the click changes the Driver plan.

How far to trust it: wear follows GPRO's mechanism (typical track wear × level and risk × driver). Typical wear comes from your races on the tracks already raced, otherwise from a per-track table (average error of about 2.4 points on real races), and for the few tracks outside the table from a regression on your races. How many test points become car points is an estimate. The PHA alignment is not a GPRO rule: it is a way to measure with a number that the car goes better when it resembles the track. The plan saves itself.

Calls: the first time, the season's calendar and tracks, if missing.Open the page →
💶Economythe season's real accounts and the cash forecast race by race
  • The season in figures: cash today, the season's income, expenses and balance, and the cash forecast for the end of the season.
  • Forecast to the end of the season: race by race, the average fixed costs (salaries, tyres, testing, practice and qualifying), the Driver plan costs (training, testing, renewal) and the Car plan changes, against sponsors and prizes. If the plan runs you out of money, it says at which race.
  • Prizes: with the expected position of each race in the Driver plan it uses the qualifying and race prize formulas; without it, the average of the prizes already won this season.
  • Balance after each race: the chart of the cash, real and forecast.
  • Where the money went: the season total per item; Statement: every GPRO transaction, race by race.
  • Staff and facilities: levels and the cost of the next step, for information only.

The real accounts come from the GPRO statement; the forecast is an estimate that changes with your plans. At the start of a season, while there are fewer than 3 races, the averages also use the last ones of the previous season.

Calls: the first time, statement, staff and facilities, calendar and tracks, if missing.Open the page →
🏢Staff and facilitiesthe staff, the seven facilities with their costs and a spending estimate

Like the Staff and Facilities page in the game, but with the costs level by level and an estimate: write the levels you would like to take the facilities to and see what they cost and how maintenance would change. Nothing is saved and nothing is changed in the game.

  • The staff: the six skills, the salary, up to which level it can be trained and the cost of the three trainings.
  • The facilities: current level, maximum level for your category, cost of the next level and of levels 10 and 20.
  • The estimate: total spend, the cash that would be left and maintenance per race after the changes.

How far to trust it: levels, caps and prices are the game's. Maintenance is an estimate ($5,000 per level). How much a level is worth is not known: no source says, so there is no value ranking.

Calls: 1 the first time; after that the data is refreshed with “Update”.Open the page →
🛞Supplierswhich tyre supplier suits you, race by race and over the season

From Pro upwards the tyre supplier is chosen with the contract at the start of the season (in Rookie and Amateur everyone has Pipirelli). Here you pick a supplier from the list and see what changes compared with yours.

  • The official data for the season of all 9 suppliers: contract, durability, peak temperature, dry and wet performance. They change from one season to the next.
  • The season: for each supplier the seconds more or less than yours over all the races of the calendar (next season, if already published), with the race where you gain most and the one where you lose most.
  • The next race: compound, stops and seconds with each supplier, with the forecast weather.
  • The chosen supplier: race by race, how much comes from the strategy (durability and compound pace), from the distance between the race temperature and its peak, from the dry performance and from the wet one.

How far to trust it: durability follows the tyre formula, checked on your races also across different seasons; peak, dry and wet are measured on the results of thousands of Pro, Master and Elite managers (dry is the least certain); the compound pace per supplier comes from an external calculator. For the season the temperature of a track is an estimate from your races.

Calls: 1 per season for the supplier data, plus calendar, tracks and the Race weekend data if missing.Open the page →

📖Historyevery recorded race, one by one, with the bill of the errors in seconds
  • In numbers: races recorded, best finish, average position, races with failures, time lost to errors per race and where you lose most.
  • Season by season: one row per race with the grid (the real one, from the formation lap) and the finish; you can filter by track.
  • Race by race detail: setup used, result, tyre and fuel consumption stint by stint, stops, risks and the driver's development.
  • The race bill: how many seconds each choice cost compared with what could be known before the start, and how many positions they were worth in your group. The items: stops (against the other managers of the division at equal strength), setup (the points off the formula with the forecast weather, or off the values the driver called right), fuel left in the tank beyond the margin, laps on worn-out tyres from badly spread stops, rain tyres on a dry track, failures of parts that started beyond the threshold of the real failures. It counts from 3 seconds up. Apart are Datapit's errors (when the advice itself was wrong) and the estimates, like a too low «Clear track» risk, not in the total. With the weather changing during the race or a failure, the items that depend on them are not judged.

A race goes into the archive by itself: open the Summary or the Race weekend before the start (so the recommended strategy is saved too) and, once the race is over, press «Update». From here you also open Recommended strategy versus actual and Past races.

Calls: none.Open the page →
🎯Recommended strategy versus actualhow far off the recommended strategy was, race by race

For each race with the strategy saved it compares the forecast with the real race:

  • Tyres: the forecast life, brought to the real temperature and risk, against the real wear of the dry stints; this way the gap is the model's error, not the weather forecast's.
  • Consumption: the forecast litres per lap against the real ones, with the boost laps you used (fully dry races only).
  • Stops and pits: the stops made and the real standing time against the model's, and whether you used the recommended compound.
  • Tyre calibration: over all the dry races without failures, how much the tyre formula must be corrected to match the real wear, with its interval. If the value in use falls outside it, it is flagged.
  • Fuel calibration: over all the fully dry races without failures, the real consumption divided by the formula, race by race, with the median and its interval, and how many races used more than the load with the 4% margin.
  • The other models, in the same way and with an index at the top: the pit time, consumption and tyres in the rain, the energy at the finish (with the safety margin of the Race weekend) and the wear of the parts, also part by part.
  • Stops against the other managers: for every dry race, the stops Datapit would have recommended against the ones that worked best for the other managers of the division, at equal strength, with the seconds lost. It uses the rankings already downloaded in the Rankings (your division is enough).
Calls: none.Open the page →
🗂️Past racesthe races run before Datapit, to put in the archive

It opens from the History or from the Summary's notice. It lists all the races you have run on GPRO, season by season, and says which are already in the archive. Tick the ones you want, one by one or a whole season, and press «Download the ticked races».

  • The races unlocked on GPRO arrive complete (setup, laps, consumption, weather, driver and car of that time) and feed every calculation; the others arrive with the result alone. The lap-by-lap replay does not: for past races it costs money on GPRO.
  • It costs one call per race and runs in blocks: the page carries on by itself and you can stop it whenever you like. It always stops before leaving you with fewer than 30 calls; after the next race you pick up from there.
Calls: one per race downloaded; opening it costs a call only if the list of races is not there yet.Open the page →
⏱️Lap timesyour driver's real laps, track by track

GPRO does not publish a time per track: here are the real laps of your driver with your car, from the archive. A record, not a forecast. For each track:

  • Race pace: the median time of the race laps, dry and wet apart, one row per race, because car and driver change over time.
  • With an empty tank: the same pace without the weight of the fuel, to compare races with different loads.
  • At zero risk: an estimate of the time without that race's «Clear track» risk.
  • Practice: the single lap per compound, on new tyres.
Calls: none.Open the page →
🏆RankingsItalian, world and your group, with the points you choose
  • Three views: your group, the Italians of all divisions and the world ranking of one division at a time; for a single race or for the whole season.
  • Points of your choice: the F1 scale on the finishing order of the list, or the game points given for the position each manager got in their own group. Plus two bonuses to switch on: fastest lap (+1) and comeback (+1 for every 5 places gained, at most +3). Changing the points downloads nothing.
  • Downloading races: «Download missing races» takes 3 lists per race (your division, the Italians and your group); the other divisions are downloaded separately when you open them, one call per race. Every button says first what it costs, and what you download stays in the archive.

GPRO gives a maximum number of rows per list: in the biggest divisions you get the fastest managers, not all of them.

Calls: only when you download; looking at rankings already downloaded costs nothing.Open the page →
Market
🧑‍🔧Driversthe whole GPRO driver market, with filters on the real values
  • The whole market, not just the drivers suggested for your league: filters on the real characteristics, sorting by clicking a column header, all the results on one page.
  • Concentration is highlighted: in the races of one Rookie group the pace went mostly with it. It is a hint from a single group, not a rule of the game.
  • With the star ☆ you follow a driver in Favourites, and see when they are no longer on the market; with 📋 you copy their characteristics to paste them into the Driver plan and see how they would grow.
Calls: none, the market file is public and does not use the quota.Open the page →
The game's words

What comes back on every page

Overall and cap
The Overall sums up the driver in one number. Each category has a cap: above it you cannot renew their contract, and in Rookie, if you are not promoted at the end of the season, you lose them at the reset.
«Clear track»
The risk the driver takes when the track ahead is clear: it gives pace, but uses up energy, parts and tyres. In the wet what counts is «Clear track wet».
PHA
Power, Handling and Acceleration: the car's three characteristics. Each track asks for a different mix of them.
Stint
The stretch of a race between the start and a stop, or between two stops: one compound and one fuel load.
Weather windows
The race forecast in four parts, each 30 minutes long at the pace of the Elite leader: Datapit turns them into the laps of your race.
Failure threshold
The wear from which a part risks breaking in a race: 80% to start with, you change it in the Car plan.
Test points
What tests give the car: they move from Testing to R&D to Engineering and reach the car three races later.
Estimate
A number calculated by Datapit and not by the game. The page says where it comes from and, when it is known, how far off it can be.
